Attractions around Lake Taupo region

New Zealand's largest lake, Lake Taupo is the crater lake of an dormant volcano. Located in the heart of the Volcanic Plateau, we are gifted with a unique thermal playground. Lake Taupo is known world wide for it's excellent trout fishing. Well stocked with rainbow and brown trout, even the most amateur fisherman with the help of local knowledge can catch these ! 

There are many boat charters that will take you out on the lake or up local rivers to fish one of the best trout fishing spots in the world.
